Introduction

The following sections describe the steps to configure a project that contains one PLC implementing PROFINET Controller Functionality and the SITARA AM263Px based PROFINET device.
In the setup described in the diagram below a Siemens S7-1511C-1 hardware is used and connected to TIA Portal V16.

In order to recognize the PROFINET device correctly in SIEMENS TIA portal, you need to add the Device Description File (Options -> Manage General station description files)
You can find the Device Description File within the INDUSTRIAL-COMMUNICATIONS-SDK at the location: "{INDUSTRIAL_SDK_INSTALL_DIR}\examples\industrial_comms\profinet_device_demo\gsdml"

In this example it is assumed, you have TIA Portal V16 installed and setup correctly on your system.
